At an annual retreat in the summer of 2021, the New York State Board of Regents recognized Ingold and her students, who were a fully virtual student population, for their exceptional work and advocacy during the COVID-19 Pandemic. In addition, that work became further highlighted with its admission into The New York State Museum’s COVID-19 Archives.
Beyond the classroom, Ingold has been a dynamic and influential leader in the field of social studies education. She is the current President of the Middle States Council for the Social Studies, the oldest professional organization of its kind in the nation. As part of her role, Ingold advocates for the importance and increased visibility of social studies for all students in American classrooms. Additionally, she is an active committee member of the New York State Council for the Social Studies and holds memberships in the Long Island Council for the Social Studies, the National Social Studies Supervisors Association, and the Organization of American Historians.

She is a founding patron and sponsor of an annual scholarship awarded to a graduating senior from the West Islip School District in Long Island. The Jerilyn Ingold Young Professionals Memorial Scholarship supports students pursuing careers in Business Education, Technology, and/or Entrepreneurship. The scholarship is named in honor of Ingold’s late mother-in-law, Jerilyn Ingold, a passionate educator who served the field for more than 30 years.
As a part of the Mammone Academy, Ingold will be honored during Reunion Weekend in September. Details about her presentation schedule will be posted on the Reunion Calendar. She will also be formally recognized during the Reunion Annual Meeting, taking place at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 20.
